Staffell Hut

Since time immemorial known for its good cuisine, since 2015 the young generation continues the family business Staffel Alm. In the past, both huts were still open. Today the small hut is closed, although it still radiates its old charm. The landlord Andi and his team are always eager to provide every hiker at his stop with a good and traditional meal. In addition, there is a friendly and fast service on top!

When the weather is nice, the Stafell Hut shows its advantages to the full: Food and drink are served on the large terrace, which thanks to its orientation is on the one hand spoiled by the sun all day and on the other hand offers you a tremendous panoramic view of the nearby peaks of Plattenspitze and Ifinger, of Merano, the Vinschgau with Ortler area and the Texel Group.

Many roads lead to this alpine hut thanks to its privileged position between the hiking areas Hirzer and Monte Scena. The less strenuous variant includes the ascent with the Hirzer cable car, which starts from Saltusio in Val Passiria. The other option is to take the chairlift from Oberkirn (easily accessible from Verdines by cable car) up to 1800 meters above sea level. From the mountain station next to the Grube Restaurant, continue on foot up another 200 meters to the Stafellalm.
