Scena Waal Path
The Scena Waal Path is situated somewhat higher than most other Waal paths in Merano and offers a lot of views of the surrounding area along its entire route, which can be enjoyed from the numerous resting benches. The Scena Waal Path, also called Schenner Waalweg, takes its course in the wild Masulschlucht, north of Scena, from there the watercourse crosses the entire Mount Scena to the Naif Valley south of Scena.
On a length of 7,5 km the Scena Waal Path leads through cool forests and narrow gorges, but also through lovely chestnut groves, wide vineyards and impressive fruit landscapes. And it does this above the long village of Scena, which you can always catch a glimpse of from the Scena Waal Path, as well as the entire Merano valley basin and the mighty Texel Group.

If you want to walk the entire Scena Waal Path, there are two perfect entry points:
1) The valley station of the cable car Merano 2000: From the large and free parking lot of the cable car there are about 100 meters of altitude to climb right at the beginning to the Vernuerhof. After that it goes almost flat out, with slight ups and downs in the direction of the Passeier Valley.
2) The valley station of the Taser cable car. Also here you will find (mostly) a (cost)-free parking lot. Right at the beginning it goes downhill. Via the cat ladder, steps carved in stone down to the Schnuggenbach stream. From there it goes leisurely over Scena to the Naiftal.
