Public herb garden

Where once a vineyard towered above the city of Merano, the public herb garden was established in 2012.
It can be reached via the Tappeiner promenade or via an old, adventurous stepped path that begins behind the parish church.

On about 5000 square meters local, regional, but also Mediterranean herbs and medicinal plants thrive in 250 beds, which are marked by signs for easy identification. In addition to its diversity of species, the Merano Public Herb Garden inspires with its sunny, exposed location with a direct view of the steeple of the parish church, which is at the same height and seems close enough to touch!
